Day 1
Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Midelt – Merzouga (Erg Echabbi)
Depart at 8:00 am from your riad or hotel, heading straight to the Sahara Desert. The journey, lasting approximately 9 hours, offers spectacular landscapes as you traverse the Atlas Mountains to the lush Ziz Valley, filled with palm trees. We'll make stops for photographs at your request.
Along the way, visit the cedar forest of Azrou to see monkeys and stop in Midelt for lunch. Continue to the famous small Sahara cities of Erfoud and Erissani before reaching the Sahara Desert.
Spend the night in a hotel. Explore Khamlia, known for its Gnaoua musicians, and enjoy their captivating musical art. Visit Hassi Elbiad to see Berbers in nomadic tents in the middle of the Sahara.
After breakfast, you have options to:
Take a trip to explore the dunes, experience the Sahara Desert, and observe the nomadic way of life.
Stay at the hotel to relax, swim, or climb the nearby dunes.
Explore the Berber villages of Hassi Elbiad and Khamlia, close to the Sahara Desert, and enjoy performances by Gnaoua bands showcasing local culture and music.
Day 2
Erg Echabbi (Merzouga) – Discovering the Sahara Desert
Day 3
Merzouga - Ouarzazate
After breakfast, embark on a camel trek back to the hotel. Then, continue the journey by road, passing through Erissani and Erfoud. Visit Todra Gorge and travel through the Valley of 1000 Kasbahs. As the scent of palm trees fades away, pass by the Rose Valley, known for Damask roses brought by local people returning from pilgrimage.
Continue through Skoura palm groves and arrive in Ouarzazate for dinner and an overnight stay in a hotel.
After breakfast, visit Taourirt Kasbah and the Hollywood of Africa, where films like "Gladiator" and "Lawrence of Arabia" were made. Proceed to Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah to explore its architectural beauty. Head towards the Red City via Tizi-n-Tichka Pass at 2,260 meters. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant in the Atlas Mountains before arriving in Marrakech.
