Day 1
Casablanca
Start your tour in Casablanca with a visit to the Hassan II Mosque, open to both Muslims and non-Muslims, showcasing exquisite Moorish influences. Enjoy a walk along the beach and explore the city's modern architecture with distinct French Art Deco influences. Visit La Ligue Arabe square and the Cathedral of Sacré Coeur.
Travel to Rabat to visit historical sites, including Chellah with its octagonal defensive gate. Explore the unfinished Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohamed V, and walk through the beautiful Kasbah of the Udayas. Continue to Meknes, established by Sultan Moulay Ismail in the 18th century.

Meknes - Volubilis – Fes
After breakfast, explore Meknes, visiting Bab Mansour gate, the granary at Sahrij Swani, and the local market of Lahdim. Discover the Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Continue through fields of barley, wheat, and olive trees to Fes.
Meet your local guide at 9:00 am to explore the medieval medina of Fes, a labyrinth of over 9,000 alleyways. Visit the tanneries, enjoy panoramic views from the southern tower, and see the artisans at a pottery cooperative. Optionally, enjoy a dinner show with belly dancing.

Fes - Midelt - Errachidia - Merzouga
Depart Fes, crossing the Middle Atlas Mountains, with a short break in Ifran. Encounter Magot monkeys in the cedar woods of Azrou. Stop for lunch in Midelt and continue through Ziz Valley to Erfoud and Merzouga.
Enjoy a free day with options including a camel ride or 4x4 journey through Erg Echabbi. Experience local Gnaoua music, taste a Touareg Pie or Berber Pizza, and visit the mausoleum of Moulay Ali Cherif. Watch the sunset from the sand dunes and spend the night in a hotel in Merzouga.

Erissani - Merzouga Sahara

Merzouga - Ouarzazate
After breakfast, head towards the oasis of El Jorf to see the ancient irrigation system. Stop for photos at Tinjedad, have lunch in Todra Gorge, and take a walk between cliffs and river. Continue to Dades Valley and Rose Valley.
Visit Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and explore the village used in many famous movies. Travel through the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi-n-Tichka Pass, with panoramic views of Berber villages. Arrive in Marrakech and overnight.

Ouarzazate - Ait Ben Haddou - Marrakech
Day 9
Discover Marrakech
Explore Marrakech with a local guide, visiting Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs, Ben Youssef Madrasa, and Koutoubia Mosque. Visit the famous souks and Majorelle Gardens. End the day at Jamaa el Fna square, enjoying the vibrant atmosphere.
Transfer to either Marrakech or Casablanca Airport for your return flight.

On my first visit to the country I spent two weeks in Morocco with a group of 10 female friends. Ahmed was an incredible and energetic guide. We saw 90% of the country yet I didn’t feel rushed or touristed to death. We were on the go daily (which was our choice) nonetheless this may not be for the lazy or laidback traveler. From the camel caravan to the Sahara, to hiking in the mid and high Atlas, to the imperial cities of Meknes and Fes, Ahmed provided plenty of context and answered our questions from the quirky to the mundane.
