4-Day Marrakech Desert Safari Itinerary
Day 1 : Start your journey from Marrakech, then to Ouarzazate, and finally to the majestic Dades Gorges.
On Day 1, you will start in Marrakech in the morning before heading to Ouarzazate, a beautiful city known for its impressive landscape and lush greenery. After enjoying the city and nearby local Berber villages, you will continue on your journey to the Dades Gorges, an area of spectacular canyons and gorges carved by the Dades River. Your first day of exploration in this 4–day adventure will be filled with breathtaking views and much more!
Day 2 : Take a trip through the Dades Gorges, traverse the Toudra Gorges, and end the day with a stay at Merzouga (Erg Echabbi).
On Day 2, you will make your way to the Toudra Gorges, where you will find many different types of wildlife and native flowers. This is an amazing opportunity for those who are looking for an up–close encounter with nature. After exploring the area, you will continue your journey to Merzouga, located in the Erg Echabbi desert. Here, you will have a chance to take in stunning views of the desert and explore the sand dunes.
Day 3 : Start at Merzouga, venture to Alnif, explore Tazzarine, and finish the journey in Ouarzazate.
On Day 3, you will head to Alnif, Tazzarine, and Ouarzazate. At Alnif, you can take in stunning views of the Sahara Desert, explore ancient fossils, and visit local Berber villages. Tazzarine is a small town situated midway between the Sahara Desert and the Souss Valley, with its own unique charm. After exploring Tazzarine, you will make your way back to Ouarzazate. Here, you can enjoy a wide variety of activities, from walking tours to camel rides.
Day 4 : Start from Ouarzazate, head to Ait Ben Haddou, visit Telouat and finish the trip back in Marrakech.
On Day 4, you will head back towards Marrakech, stopping by the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait ben Haddou. This ancient fortified city consists of buildings that are both beautiful and historically significant. You can also explore the nearby Tifoultoute Mosque and the many local souks in the area. Finally, you will make your way back to Marrakech, where your 4–day journey through the spectacular scenery of Morocco comes to an end. From the Dades Gorges to Ait ben Haddou and everywhere in between, you will have seen the best of Morocco‘s diverse terrain. This itinerary is the perfect way to experience all that Morocco has to offer!
