ITINERARY

Marrakech to Fez Sahara Desert Tour

DAY 1 Marrakech – Telouat – Ait ben Haddou – Ouarzazate

We will depart for Marrakech to Fez Sahara Desert Tour after breakfast at 8:00 am from your hotel towards Ouarzazate, passing Tizi-n-Tichka, 2260 metres high.  We will visit Telouat Kasbah, which was built by the Pacha Glaoui in the period of French colonisation.  you will visit one of the UNESCO world heritage sites named Ait Ben haddou. It’s classified since 1987. This fortified Kasbah is an attractive site for private tours and excursions departing from Marrakech. Because of it’s beautiful architucture and natural decoration Ait Benhaddou Kasbah it becomes one of the famous locations that is used for movies shooting.  such as “Gladiator”, “Lawrence of Arabia”, “Alexander”, “Kingdom of heaven”,”Babel” & “Prince of Percia”…

Then continue on to Ouarzazate where we will stop to take photographs, see the Hollywood of Africa cinema studios and Taourirt Kasbah. We will spend the overnight in Ouarzazate.

DAY 2 Ouarzazate – Rose Valley – Dades Valley – Dades Gorges – Todra Gorge

After breakfast we will depart Ouarzazate and head towards Skoura, known for its palm trees and authentic berber Kasbahs at Amredil and Ben Moro.  We will continue our journey to the spectacular Rose Valley where we will see figs, almond and walnut trees.  Passing through the valley of 1000 Kasbahs we will see many Berber villages and Kasbahs, after that we will head to Dades Gorges with its diffrent colours, you will also discover the “Monkeys Feet Prints” before arriving at Todra Gorge where we will spend the night in a hotel.

DAY 3 Todra Gorge – Erg Echabbi (Merzouga)

From Todra Gorge we will drive toward sahara desert Erg Echabbi (Merzouga), passing by spectacular landscapes and the volcanic Atlas Mountains of Saghrou in the Anti Atlas.  We will pass through the village of Tinejdad before stopping for lunch in Touroug.  After lunch we will continue to Erfoud, famous for its ‘fossil’ factories, before seeing the beautiful sand dunes appearing as we pass by Erissani.  On arriving at Erg Echabbi we will take the camels to the middle of the Sahara Desert where we will spend the night under the stars in Berber tents.

DAY 4 Merzouga – Ziz Valley – Azrou – Ifran – Fez

After breakfast we will ride our camels back to hotel, where we will freshen up before making our way to Fes.  We will stop to enjoy the fabulous landscapes of Ziz Valley on the way.  We will enjoy the stunning scenery of the Atlas Mountains, passing by Tizi-n-Talghoumt 1907 metres high.  We will stop for lunch in the small town of Midelt, before stopping in the cedar forests of the middle Atlas Mountainswhere we may see the Magot monkeys.  We will also be passing through Ifran, the first ski resort in Morocco, before continuing our journey to the Imperial City of Fez.

Dress Appropriately

Morocco is a conservative Muslim country, and it’s not appropriate to wear skimpy clothing. Keep your arms, shoulders, and legs covered (especially if you are a woman) to avoid any unwanted attention and conform to local norms.

Don’t walk alone at night

While walking in well-lit and busy areas can be fine, be careful walking at night. You never know what lurks around the corner in the medinas. Although the country is very safe but it’s always advisable to pay attention.

Watch the Water

Wash your hands often with soap and water, and watch out for ice, drink bottled water, and eat cooked food including fruits and vegetables to void being ill while traveling Morocco.”

A few other things to keep in mind

  • Most shops and museums are closed on Friday afternoons. It’s their holy day.
  • Almost all peoples are friendly and honest, and violent crime is very rare. However, it is wise to be careful about pickpockets and petty thievery, in the major cities.
  • Make sure you have small change with you to tip at restaurants. For example: $1 per person at local places, and $3 to $5 per person if you’re at an expensive restaurant.
  • The Atlas Mountains get really cold at night – so pack warm clothing if you’re hiking there.

Registration & Terms of Payment

Morocco Caravan Tours defines its conditions of sale according to the specificities of its trips and the services provided. Any registration on one of our tours implies adherence to the general conditions of sale governing the relationship between travel agency  Morocco Caravan Tours and its customers. The customer acknowledges having read the present conditions of sale in their entirety, the specific conditions specific to the service that he wishes to set up, as well as all the terms of the service before having passed his registration form.

Article 01- Registration

The registration to one of our tours implies the acceptance of our conditions of sale. The reservation will be final from receipt of the completed, dated and signed registration form. The deposit must be accompanied by a deposit of 25% of the total amount of the trip. The balance must be paid before your departure for the trip or upon your arrival. If the payment of the balance can not be made at the end of the deadline, this will result in the cancellation of the registration and the loss of the deposit.

Article 02 – Price of Tour

Our prices are calculated on a flat rate basis, including a package of services described in the program of your selected tour. The price of the tour varies according to the number of participants, the duration of the tour, the logistics set up and the period of departure for the tour, also the category of accommodation and services selected. The exact cost of your chosen trip will be communicated to you at the time of your request of estimate and does not change as soon as the confirmation of your reservation.

Article 03 – Value for money

We have calculated the right price for you. It is true that one always finds cheaper, but experienced people quickly know what is included in a tariff and what it is not. We guarantee the quality of our services and are convinced that this is the key to the success of all our tours, with the aim of bringing total satisfaction to all our guests. Morocco Caravan Tours guarantees the quality of the services provided and services respecting the quality-price ratio.

Article 04 – Formalities of Travel

Before registering, please check that the police and sanitary formalities are respected to enter Morocco. In order to properly prepare for your trip, and whatever your nationality, we advise you to check the necessary formalities with the competent authorities to know all the administrative and sanitary procedures to be carried out before leaving.

  • Passport valid 3 months after the date of return to your country.
  • Vaccination card and medical indications.
  • Insurance and repatriation assistance contract.
  • Personal papers: identity card, bank card …

Article 05 – Payment

For all reservations, the receipt of a deposit determines the final confirmation of your registration on one of our tours. At registration, payment of a deposit of 25% of the total amount of the trip, the balance must be paid within 30 days before the scheduled departure date or return it in cash to the guide upon arrival in Morocco. For the payment of a deposit of the price of the tour, Morocco Caravan Tours accepts:

  • Bank wire Payment.
  • Online Payment through Paypal
  • Money transfer through WesternUnion.
  • A cash payment upon arrival.
  • The costs of the transfer remain the responsibility of the customer.

Article 6 – Tips & Gratuities

In most countries, tips are an integral part of tradition. During the tour, only the staff accompanying you will be entitled to a tip: guide, driver & camel drivers …

Tips are not wages, it is a way to thank the people who accompanied you and served you during your tour.

Article 07 – Cancellation Policy

In case of cancellation of the tour, you should inform Morocco Caravan Tours by any written means. The date of receipt of the registered letter or e-mail will be used as the cancellation date for the calculation of the cancellation fee. The registration fees, application fees, are not refundable. For any cancellation justified on the initiative of the customer, the expenses retained will be the following:

  • More than 61 days before departure: 75 € of the price of the trip.
  • From 60 to 30 days before departure: 40% of the price of the trip.
  • From 29 to 10 days before departure: 75% of the price of the trip.
  • Less than 9 days before departure: 100% of the price of the trip.

Responsibility

In accordance with its terms and conditions of sale, Morocco Caravan Tours shall in no event be held liable for the following consequences and events: Loss or theft of the airline ticket by the traveler, airlines not issuing duplicates. Baggage damaged, delayed or permanently lost during air transport. Flight canceled, deferred, diverted or delayed by the airline. When the client is unable to board, due to the lack of being able to present the necessary documents for the journey: obsolete identity papers or health certificates, insufficient valid for identity cards, passports, visas, vaccination certificates etc. We shall not make any refund in this respect. Any unforeseen or insurmountable incident or event of a third party such as: force majeure, riots, strikes, technical incidents, inclement weather. Any additional costs related to these disruptions will be borne by the customer.
